DULUTH, Minn. – Thomas the Tank Engine returns to the Lake Superior Railroad Museum this weekend.
It’s the two biggest weekends of the summer for the North Shore Scenic Railroad, as Thomas draws thousands from across the country. Last year it attracted a record attendance of over 18,000 visitors.
The museum director tells us that ticket sales were a little slow at the door, but have been picking up over the past few weeks.
Unfortunately, Thomas’ friend Percy will not be at the station this year due to staff shortages.
“Thomas the Tank is iconic. Sir Topham Hatt will be here, we’ve got the All Things Thomas gift shop, but it’s more than just Thomas. We’ve got bounce houses, we’ve got miniature golf, we’ve got festival food, we’ve got a million things to do. Literally , you can spend hours on the property with your Thomas Train tickets because of everything that comes with it,” says Ken Buehler, executive director of the Lake Superior Railroad Museum.
