The Central High School football program is primed and ready to spread its excitement for the upcoming season. A great way to show this enthusiasm for building school and community spirit is the 2nd annual C-Day (Center Day).
The 2022 C-Day event will take place on Friday, August 12 at 5:00 pm at the Central High School football field. Alumni of the center, Falcons from elementary, middle and high school and the wider community are invited to C-Day. The free event will also feature a “Fun Zone” for all kids that will be filled with bounce houses, food trucks, face painting tables and crafts.
“C-Day is a great way to give back to our community,” Central High football coach Rodney Bivens said. “It allows us to provide a fun family atmosphere as we feature not only the Central High School football team, but all of our feeder school’s fall sports and coaches. We believe it is better to give than to receive. For so this is one of the many ways we participate in giving back to those who support our program.”
What is C-Day?
It is a free community event that promotes and showcases the CHS Cheerleaders, the CHS Volleyball Team, the CHS Flag Football Team, the CHS Marching Band, the CHS Volleyball Team and Cheerleaders Westlawn Middle School, the Westside Raiders Little League football team and the West Alabama Falcons. In addition, attendees can enjoy the “Fun Zone” and fencing games.
Are you ready for some football?
The Central High School football team will hold a “fan controlled” game where they will play each other. The Westlawn Middle School football team will also compete against each other.
Community support plays a vital role
“Most everyone desires a strong support system. Soccer is one of the most important team sports that involves numerous people to be successful,” Bivens said. “Knowing that you have the support of your community gives student-athletes something bigger than themselves to play for. Community support fosters a great deal of pride when you play for family, friends and those who live in your community”.
