Funky Ferndale Art Fair
Friday 23 September to Sunday 25 September200 West Nine Mile
Artists and authors will display their work along Nine Mile near Woodward this weekend. This free event also features live entertainment.
Plus, the DIY Street Fair is happening at the same time, right across Woodward, so you can check out both parties.
Michigan Fall Fest

Celebrate fall with themed food and drinks, family activities and more.
The festival features pumpkin bowling, pumpkin tic-tac-toe, pumpkin decorating, bounce houses, a petting zoo, live music, costume contests for kids and pets, and parades.
Tickets are $5 in advance for ages five and up; $8 at the door. Military, veterans and children under five are free. Parking is $5.
Village of Rochester Hills 20th Anniversary Celebration

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the Village of Rochester Hills is hosting a free, family-friendly event.
The event features a MEGA 80s concert, a presentation by the mayor, free cider and donuts, food trucks, DJs and beer garden, arts and crafts, face painting and more.
Flava Fest
Sunday, September 25 from 1 to 6 p.mDetroit Music Hall Amphitheater
Flava Fest brings together Detroit’s African and Caribbean restaurants in one place for a day full of food. Kola Lounge, Jerk Turf, Majoba Cooks and more will be serving their dishes.
There will also be music and games at this family-friendly event.
A $30 ticket includes admission, two food sample tickets and a non-alcoholic drink ticket.
Detroit Food Fair
Sunday, September 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.mDetroit Eastern Market
Head to Shed 5 in the Eastern Market to enjoy meals from flavor makers, purveyors, artisans and food organizations. The Detroit Vegan Festival is also happening at the same time.
Entrance and parking are free.
Fire and flannel party
From Thursday September 22 to Sunday September 25Yack Arena Parking Lot in Wyandotte
This fall themed festival is all about lumberjacks.
There will be a carnival, fire magic acts, live chainsaw carving, Mackinac Island Jack Pine Lumberjack Shows, ax throwing, glass blowing, a beer tent and live music.
Unlimited carnival wristbands are available for $20 on Thursday, Friday and Sunday and $25 on Saturday.
Entry is free.
