Preschool story time

10 – 10:30 a.m. at the Edwardsville Public Library. Age 3-5 years. If you’re ready for a story, clap your hands. The library will share fun stories and songs each week, and don’t forget: bubbles.

4th Annual Edwardsville Book Festival

Woofstock 2022

11am – 3pm at 2082 South Moreland Road, Edwardsville. The Metro East Humane Society’s Woofstock 2022 features a special performance by Mike Sonderegger along with a dog park, food and beer, kids’ zone, craft vendors, dog demonstrations, adoptable dogs and pony rides. Sausage dinner

3 to 7 p.m. 2520 Poplar Street, Highland. The United Evangelical Church of Christ is having a drive-thru sausage sizzle. Dinners include a pound of sausage, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and apple pie.

Rocking for Recovery

4 to 10 p.m. Bethalto Central Park, 213 North Prairie Street, Bethalto. Amare’s annual music festival presented by Bickle Electric Contracting Co. will help raise awareness and celebrate people and families who are recovering from substance use and have been affected by it. The event is free to the public and is a family-friendly affair with Woodson BBQ and The Sweet Side food trucks, bounce houses provided by Gateway Bounce, face painting booths, resources and organization, vendor booths and live music. Bickle Electric VIP tickets can be purchased for $10 on the event’s Eventbrite page.

Sunday, September 18

Chicken dinner

11am – 3pm at Edwardsville Moose Lodge at 7371 Marine Road, Rt. 143. Dinners are $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. Free Demonstration Chair Stretching and Strengthening Class

17:30 – 18:15 in the RP Lumber Center Community Room. A session of six prepaid classes will begin on September 26. The class is designed to be done mostly sitting with minimal or no standing.
