Should You Rent or Buy a Bounce House

Should You Rent or Buy a Bounce House

If you have kids then you know then seem to have endless amounts of energy and one of their favorite activities is jumping.  You have probably caught them more than once jumping on the bed, you even probably did it yourself as a kid.  For kids, jumping is a perfectly natural activity that’s why they love bounce houses so much.  Bounce houses were built for jumping and they can keep kids entertained for hours.  That leaves you with the question of should you rent a bounce house or buy one?  Let’s look at the pros and cons of each.

Renting a Bounce House

You can easily rent a bounce house from any number of companies that specialize in bounce houses or party rentals.  Your kids have probably played on one at a friend’s birthday.  Rentals don’t cost as much as you think, that is one of the reasons these are so popular.  When you consider how much fun your kids will have it makes for a great party.

You can rent one for anywhere between $200-$500 but the price will depend on the size of the bounce house and where you live.  You have a ton of options; you can rent a complete castle that is the size of your house or you can go with something smaller that fits in the back garden.  The kids will not only love it but you may have a hard time getting them to come out after the party is over.

Buying Your Own Bounce House

One of the advantages to owning your own bounce house is that your kids get to use it whenever they want.  Instead of sitting behind a screen they could be outside jumping around like kids are supposed to.  You can probably find one at a local department store or toy store.  Bounce houses that you find there are going to be a much smaller version of what you can rent and they can run you $300 and up.

There are going to be limitations to having your own bounce house, it will probably only be big enough to accommodate one or two kids, so if all the neighbourhood kids show up, and they will, they are going to have to take turns.

Should You Rent or Buy a Bounce House

It really depends, if you want to have one of the larger bounce houses for a party then renting is much easier.  There is no reason that you can’t do both, keep the smaller house for small kids to play on regularly and keep the idea of renting for special occasions.
