The public is encouraged to attend “Day of Recovery” on September 10 at Eastside Park in Washington

Several Daviess County organizations are hosting a “Day of Recovery” event this month to provide answers to people with questions about help for substance abuse and mental health issues.

September is “Recovery Month” and Saturday, September 10th will be “Recovery Day” at Washington’s Eastside Park.

Shaina Bradley, director of Peer Recovery Services at Daviess Community Hospital, says it’s for all ages.

“Recovery Day” will run from noon to 4pm at Eastside Park.

Several treatment providers will be there handing out information about their programs.

There will be live music, a cookout kitchen, bounce houses and a splash tank.

There will also be a balloon release to remember those who lost their lives to a substance abuse disorder.
