ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) – Back to school is right around the corner and Music City Mall is hosting a back to school party this Saturday.
MCM will have a day of fun to look forward to before the school semester begins.
The shopping center will have performances, one of which will be from the cast of SpongeBob the Musical.
You will be able to meet and greet the firefighters and the police of Odessa.
Additionally, CBS7’s Hannah Burbank and Matthew Alvarez will be at the station taking photos in front of the studio.
MCM CEO Greg Morgan says the event will have entertainment everywhere you go.
“We’re going to have balloon animals, we’re going to have bounce houses in the actual theater wing,” Morgan said. “So if there’s something that needs to be spread across all areas of the mall. So no matter where you go, there’s going to be shopping, there’s going to be fun, there’s going to be entertainment.”
MCM is also collecting school supplies that will be donated to the Ector County Independent School District. And if you donate school supplies, you could win a grand prize of $1,000 to spend at the mall.
Bring your school supplies to the dining area to enter.
“So, we have 4 backpacks with tablets and school supplies, and each of them will also get some shopping time,” Morgan said. “Whether it’s 1,000 or 500, we even have a couple of $250 buy-ins. So everybody’s going to win something, it’s going to be great.”
The food court will have a $2 special for the event.
Other events including karaoke for kids, balloon animals, hip hop dance shows and face painting will return for the first time since the pandemic.
Morgan says the roller rink will have a $10 all-day fee…
“So you can pick up your kids, take them to try on clothes, and when you want to go shopping for yourself, take them back and drop them off at the track,” Morgan said. “It’s a great time for the whole family and you can really control the pace of your day.”
There will also be a section hosted by Dillard’s where there will be a selfie stick station for back-to-school selfies.
Back to school starts at 2pm and ends at 6pm
