The circus comes to town on Tuesday

The Carden International Circus is coming to town and making a stop at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center this Tuesday, September 20th.

From elephants to acrobats, it will showcase spectacular tricks by human and animal artists. Come a little early to participate in pre-show activities, including up-close animal interactions, face painting, bounce houses and more.

The circus starts at 18:30. Tickets start at $25 and are available for purchase here. The Lamar-Dixon Expo Center is located at 9039 South St. Landry Ave.

Hear the sounds of 80s Tuesdays and Wednesdays

The Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra brings back the 1780s, 1880s and 1980s with a fun show this Tuesday, September 20th and Wednesday, September 21st.

This candlelit concert brings back all the hits of the 80s from every century. Hear classical music along with some pop throwbacks at this intimate show. Lighted candles will set the mood while a quartet performs.

There is a show at 6:30pm and 8:30pm every night. Tickets start at $30 and are available for purchase here. The Baton Rouge Orchestra is located at 233 St. Ferdinand St.

Rock Thursday at Perkins Rowe

Perkins Rowe’s free Rock N Rowe concert series returns with another outdoor show this Thursday, September 22.

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and find a spot to listen to live music in the afternoon. These shows take place every Thursday until November 3rd. This Thursday the Eddie Smith Band will take the stage with swamp pop, blues, country and more.

Rock N Rowe is 6-9pm. These shows are free and open to the public.

Enjoy wine while you do pottery on Thursday

Head to the Cary Saurage Community Arts Center for a pottery wheel throwing class this Thursday, September 22nd.

Sip and Spin classes combine pottery making with beer and wine consumption. Registration includes two places for you and one guest. You and your partner can use six pounds of clay and tools to make your creations. You will also have a drink ticket that can be redeemed for drinks.

Sip and Spin is at 6:30. The cost is $100 per session, you can register here. The Cary Saurage Community Arts Center is located at 233 St. Ferdinand St.
