The Main Street Live 2022 summer concert series ended on a high note.
“We had an amazing 18th season of Main Street Live in downtown McMinnville,” said Main Street McMinnville Board President Raven Young. “We had approximately 6,000 people come to downtown Warren and all of the surrounding counties for eight Main Street Live concerts this summer. Main Street Live is a fun event that everyone in the community can enjoy and we are so grateful for the support we receive of our community so we can continue to make it possible.”
MixTape, the musical tribute to the 80s, moved to the Park Theatre. Dougy Fresh, Bass Springsteen, Matley Crue, JustN’ Roses and Bon Jody delivered hits like Rick Springfield’s “Jessie’s Girl,” Huey Lewis’ “Do You Believe in Love” and “Power of Love,” “Cuts Like a Knife” by Bryan Adams, “Rock and Roll All Nite” by KISS and “You Really Got Me” by Van Halen.
The night dedicated to Motown and R&B was interrupted as soon as it started.
“We started a gig and then called early because of the rain, it was Entice,” Young said. “We hope to have them back next year as they are a crowd favorite. Then we had a concert canceled due to weather and then rescheduled which was MixTape. We are very grateful to the city of McMinnville and the Park Theater manager Joe Harvey and his staff. They helped make the show possible.”
Main Street Live is a free event thanks to the dedicated sponsors and volunteers of the McMinnville Street Promotions Committee.
“We couldn’t make this event this great if it wasn’t for our sponsors and volunteers,” Young said. “Security Federal is always a gracious host and goes above and beyond each year to help us make the event possible. The law firms of Galligan and Newman and Dr Pepper are also two long-time sponsors who have always supported Main Street.”
Thanks also went to Ben Lomand, McMinnville Electric System, Graves Family Pharmacy, the City of McMinnville, the Warren County Commission, Young-blood and Associates, Evelyn Taylor Avenue, PEG Broadcasting, Middle Tennessee Natural Gas and Southern Standard, your local news source, which sponsored the event this year.
“Our vendors this year also did an amazing job,” Young said. “We also had bounce houses for the kids at several of the shows hosted by Wild Adventures Party Rentals and Warren Bounce House Rentals.”
Food vendors: Breakfast Rotary, Sparkys Kettle Corn, Begonias, Happy Days Grill, First National Bank and Dr Pepper.
Other than the return of Entice, there are no further spoilers for Main Street Live’s 2023 summer concert series.
“We’re looking forward to next summer and we’re already starting to plan some really exciting concerts,” Young said. “We won’t be releasing any names yet, but we’ll be bringing back some favorites as well as some potential new names.”
The Main Street Live Summer Concert Series is offered on Friday nights in June and July.
